Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Arctophile (arctophile.biz.id) collects when you visit the site, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

We collect only what is needed to run the site and its comment section. Most of it is gathered automatically by the software that powers Arctophile, which runs on WordPress.

  • Comments. When you leave a comment, we collect the name, email address, and optional website you enter, along with your IP address and browser user agent. Your email address is never shown publicly.
  • Spam filtering. Comments are checked by Akismet, an anti-spam service operated by Automattic. Akismet receives your comment data, including your IP address, to decide whether a comment is spam.
  • Server logs. Our server records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, referring page, and time of visit.
  • Cookies. WordPress sets cookies when you comment so the form can remember your details. Our caching plugin, LiteSpeed Cache, may set technical cookies needed to serve pages correctly, and advertising cookies are described below.

Advertising and Third-Party Cookies

Arctophile intends to show ads through Google AdSense. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site and other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some parts of the site work, such as the comment form.

How We Use Information

  • To display and moderate comments
  • To protect the site from spam and abuse
  • To keep the site secure and diagnose technical problems
  • To show advertising that helps fund the site

We Do Not Sell Personal Data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with the service providers named in this policy, such as Akismet and Google, as needed to run the site, or when the law requires it.

Data Retention

Comments and their metadata are kept until the comment is deleted or you ask us to remove it. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.

Your Rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, such as the details attached to your comments. You can also ask us to correct or delete that data.

Send requests to [email protected], ideally from the email address you used on the site. We may keep some records where the law or site security requires it.

Children’s Privacy

Arctophile is written for adult readers and collectors and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we will delete any such information we learn about.

We may update this policy when our services or legal requirements change. The date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect.
